Engagement on Consultation and Accommodation
Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada
A Nationwide Engagement Series Centring Indigenous Voices
The development of Canada’s new consultation and accommodation guidelines is a process that must be guided by the voices, knowledge, and priorities of Indigenous Peoples. This multi-year engagement series is creating space for Indigenous communities to share perspectives that will shape a framework grounded in respect, reciprocity, and recognition of inherent rights.
Naut’sa mawt Event Management is working alongside the organizing team from the earliest planning conversations, providing careful stewardship of every detail. We have ensured every aspect is handled with care so participants can focus fully on the discussions at hand.
Our role included:
- Project management to ensure smooth logistics in a culturally safe setting
- Event registration and communications management to keep participants informed and engaged
- Hospitality, venue, and accommodation arrangements that prioritize comfort, accessibility, and cultural safety
- Audio-visual services that connect and immerse participants
- Graphic design, and print services tailored to each session
- Facilitation and cultural protocol coordination with Elders, including welcome ceremonies, prayers, and gift presentations
- Honorarium and travel administration to remove barriers to participation
- Notetaking to capture input with care and accuracy
- What We Heard Report and Companion Report to share key insights and guide next steps
Each session has invited participants to share their experiences, reflect on what has worked, and explore what needs to change. We have helped foster open dialogue and collective action to ensure consultation is meaningful and effective now and for generations to come.
Blending operational precision with cultural care, we created spaces for genuine connection and collaborative relationship-building. This work has extended beyond policy to strengthen relationships, foster understanding, and ensure Indigenous perspectives guide future decisions. We are honoured to walk alongside partners and participants in this important journey.
